基準／標準 criterion, standard, reference

criterionは、判断や決定をするための手段（判断基準・試験標準）の意味で用いられ、standardは、世界的標準、業界標準、音楽のスタンダードなど、より広く権威のある意味が強いようである。criterionは「（判断）基準」、standardsは「標準、規格」、referenceは「基準」と和訳されることが多い。多少ニュアンスが異なるようであるので、以下の例文や辞書などを参照されたい。
